“There is no more truth than there is in the world I created for you” Christof
Christof created this world for Truman where everything is perfect. Truman did not have to live in the real world where there’s lies and disappointment. It’s almost impossible to create a “reality” show where no one is an actor. The Truman Show depicts several interesting areas of the video production through Truman’s last words, where is everyone now? And Sequel.
Truman started recognizing strange actions that were going on. Truman sees his father on his way to work. Strange thing about this is, is that his father died in the water during a storm. Another weird thing was when Truman was on his way to work and his radio cuts into another station where it seemed to be saying exactly the directions where he was going. This company that adopted him at birth was constantly following him and filming his every move. One last strange thing that Truman experiences is when he goes into this building and opens the elevator; he sees a “break room”. Then he gets kicked out. Truman starts thinking that something’s going on and he wanted to get away. His ideal place was to go to Fiji to see his lover Sylvia, but the travel person said that Fiji Flights were booked for a whole month. Truman eventually sneaks off at night and gets on a boat and starts sailing. He hears this loud crash, and realizes that the boat just ran into something. This is when Truman comes to the conclusion that he had been closed in. “In case I don’t see you, good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight!” Truman states this as he walks out of the dome he had lived in all his life. He’s basically saying goodbye for good because now he knows the truth and he can explore a whole new world.
After Truman leaves the show everyone moves on from this. Christof apologizes to Truman. Christof trys to create a similar show just like the Truman show but sadly fails. Christof also asks Truman and Sylvia to star their son in a season 2 of the Truman Show, but they refused. Truman and Sylvia end up together. Sylvia met Truman after he got out and they stared at each other and embraced each other. Truman and Sylvia fell in love at first sight. They got married and had a son. Viewers of the Truman show missed the show deeply, but found other interests. People see him in the real world and always ask him questions and want autographs. People learned a few things from Truman. Things aren’t always what they seem. Don’t just trust anyone. Stick to what you know, don’t let others tell you what you know! Everyone moves on from this but for some, like Truman it’s a little bit harder.
What happens to Truman when he gets out into the “real” world? Truman and Sylvia get married. Ironically enough they spent their honeymoon in Fiji, where Sylvia got pregnant with their son named Henry. Truman and Sylvia decide to raise their kids normally because Truman didn’t get to have a normal life. For Truman, the real world is very different from the world he lived in most of his life. This is hard for him to get used to. He realizes everything isn’t perfect. He also likes it because he doesn’t feel like he’s being followed and revolved around. Truman hates cameras. He freaks out when he sees them. He never wants to be filmed again. Truman can finally live a life where there is privacy and not always being filmed or constantly followed.
The Truman Show has many interesting areas of video production through Truman’s last words, Where’s everyone now? And sequel. Truman lived in a dome of happiness and fantasy. He lived in a fake perfect world, but also boring. Living in a perfect world makes you not want to achieve anything greater. There’s no ambition and no excitement. Why live in a world where you don’t strive for anything?
